Step 1: Introduce your point with a topic sentence
A topic sentence is a sentence that tells your reader what the paragraph will be about. It should be brief, specific, and focused on one idea or point. For example: “The best way to learn about the world is through travel.”
Step 2: Provide evidence for your claim in at least one paragraph
In the next few sentences after your topic sentence, explain why this claim is true using specific examples from history or current events. The more relevant and specific examples you can give, the better! For example: “To understand how people lived in medieval Europe, I traveled to France.”
An argumentative essay body paragraph is a place to make your case. The paragraph is the most basic unit of rhetoric and can be used in any type of writing. Its purpose is to present the writer’s main point and support it with evidence.
The first step in writing an argumentative essay body paragraph is to choose your point of view, or thesis statement. Your thesis statement should be clear and precise, but also broad enough that it doesn’t limit you as you write your argumentative essay.
Next, you will need to identify your opposing viewpoints and how they differ from yours. This allows you to clearly state what will be your position throughout the rest of your essay. You will also want to summarize those opposing viewpoints in order for readers who might not have been familiar with them before reading your essay will understand them better after reading it.
Finally, you’ll need to explain how those opposing viewpoints are wrong or inaccurate in some way, so that when readers finish reading your essay they will agree with your position on whatever subject matter it addresses rather than theirs!
The body of an argumentative essay is where you lay out the evidence for your thesis. The evidence can be facts, statistics, or expert opinion.
The body paragraphs should start with a topic sentence that restates your position in different words and then presents the evidence to support your claim.
The final sentence of each body paragraph should restate the main idea of that paragraph in new words, so that readers can easily see how each paragraph supports the overall thesis.
In order to write an effective argumentative essay, you need to have a well-developed thesis. In other words, the thesis is the main idea you are trying to get across in your essay. You can write your thesis in the first paragraph or make it last until the end. It’s up to you!
The next step is developing your body paragraphs by using evidence from your sources and examples from your own experience. Try writing at least three paragraph-long arguments that support your thesis statement. You should also include counterarguments if they exist and explain why they are wrong.
Finally, when writing an argumentative essay, be sure to use proper grammar and spelling throughout the entire work so readers know exactly what you mean when they read it!
Step 1: Write the topic sentence
You should be able to deduce your topic sentence from the prompt. In this case, it’s “The government should not censor music.”
Step 2: Introduce your claim and explain why you believe that claim is true
In this case, it would be something like: “Music censorship limits freedom of expression and can have a negative impact on society.”
Step 3: Provide evidence for your claim
“Evidence” is any information that supports your claim. In this case, you might say something like “Censorship limits freedom of expression because it prevents people from hearing new music and experiencing new ideas.”
Step 4: Explain the impact of censorship on society as a whole (or at least how it impacts you personally)
In this case, you might say something like “I am an artist who wants to express myself through my music, but I am limited by censorship laws that prevent me from doing so.”
How to write an argumentative essay body paragraph
An argumentative essay is a piece of writing designed to persuade the reader to accept the author’s point of view on a given topic. The body paragraphs are where you’ll present your evidence, using quotes and statistics, as well as other types of evidence.
Each paragraph should focus on one specific point that supports your argument. You can use different types of evidence within each paragraph to make your points more interesting and persuasive.
For example, let’s say you’re writing an essay about how the government should raise taxes on high-income earners. In one body paragraph, you might quote a politician who said that high taxes don’t hurt economic growth, while in another body paragraph you might quote an economist who said that they do hurt economic growth.
The body of your argumentative essay is where you get to the heart of your topic. This is where you’ll detail your main points, as well as provide evidence to support them.
In an argumentative essay, the main point is usually a contention or disagreement with another person or group of people. The evidence will be facts and statistics that prove your point.
So how do you write an effective body paragraph? Here are some tips:
Be specific: Use concrete examples and numbers that back up your contentions.
Be careful with tone: Be sure to use language that will appeal to your audience while still being respectful of other viewpoints.
Be consistent: Try not to jump from topic to topic within one paragraph; this can be confusing for readers.
The body of an argumentative essay is where you present your case for why the reader should agree with you. This is where you’ll put forth your evidence, provide examples, and explain how your argument can be applied to real-world situations.
The first thing to do when writing an argumentative essay’s body is to clearly state your thesis. The thesis is essentially a mini-outline for your essay that explains what key points will be covered in the paragraphs that follow. You can use words like “First,” “Second,” or “Third” as headings for each of these subpoints to make it easier for readers to follow along.
Next, you’ll want to organize those subpoints into logical order by listing them in a way that makes sense. For example: “First, I will discuss the economic benefits of buying local products and services; second, I will discuss the environmental impact of buying local products and services; third, I will discuss social benefits of buying local products and services.”
Finally, you’ll want to make sure each paragraph has at least one point that supports your thesis statement directly—otherwise known as an argumentative paragraph!
You know that thing, when you’re sitting around with friends and they start talking about something, and then someone else chimes in with their opinion? Then another person says something, and then someone else agrees or disagrees? And then the next thing you know, everyone is in a heated debate over whether or not [insert topic here] is good or bad.
That’s basically how an argumentative essay works. You’ve got your thesis statement—that’s your opinion on the subject matter—and then you back it up with evidence from sources. The body paragraphs are where you lay out your evidence and support for your thesis statement.
To write a successful argumentative essay, you’ll want to make sure each of your body paragraphs follows a similar structure:
-Introduce your main point, which is where you introduce the paragraph’s topic (and why it matters).
-Explain what your supporting arguments are, using evidence from sources.
-Break down those supporting arguments into sub-points that explain why each piece of evidence supports the main point.
-End with a conclusion about how all those parts come together to prove something important about the topic at hand.
Let’s start with the first sentence. This is where you’ll introduce your argument and make it clear what your thesis statement is. Remember, this isn’t a question, but rather a statement of fact that you are going to prove.
You can use a number of different techniques to get your point across in an interesting way:
-Use a quote from someone who agrees with you
-Use a quote from someone who disagrees with you (but make sure it’s relevant!)
-State something that is true, but may not be obvious or commonly known
-Use statistics or facts to prove your point
