I’m writing to you today to ask for an appeal on my recent suspension from school. I know that I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and that I’ve been a bit of a troublemaker. But I really think it’s time for me to grow up, and I’m ready to put all that behind me.
My grades have been improving since you announced my suspension (and they were really good before that), and I’ve been working hard to get back into the good graces of my teachers and peers. My goal is to graduate from high school with honors next year, but if you don’t reinstate me now, I won’t be able to make that happen.
I hope you’ll consider my appeal so that I can continue moving forward toward my final goal: graduating with honors next year!
Dear [name],
I’m writing to you with the hope that you will reconsider my application for admission to [school].
I’ve always been interested in attending [school], but I was denied admission last year because my GPA was too low. I understand that this is a very competitive school, and I feel like it’s my responsibility as a student to improve my grades and become a better candidate for admission. This year, I was able to raise my GPA by two points and get an A+ in AP Physics—the only class where I wasn’t receiving an A-. In addition to these academic achievements, I’ve also taken on leadership roles at my school’s debate team and the local animal shelter. These positions have given me valuable experience working with others and managing projects independently.
I know this is a long shot—after all, you’ve already made your decision about me—but I wanted to take this opportunity to show you what kind of person I am and how hard I’m willing to work if given another chance. Please consider allowing me into your school!
Dear School,
I am writing this letter to appeal the decision to expel me from your school. I believe that my expulsion was unfair and would like to explain why.
First, I would like to say that I have been an exemplary student at your school for the past five years, and am proud of my academic accomplishments. I have never been in trouble before this incident. Second, I am deeply sorry for what happened and regret my actions. I have learned from this mistake and have taken steps to ensure such a situation does not occur again. Finally, if it is possible for me to return to your school as a student next year, please consider this request.
Thank you in advance for taking the time out of your day to read this letter and sincerely hope that you will reconsider your decision regarding my expulsion.
Hi [NAME],
I was just wondering if you would consider letting me take the [CLASS NAME] course next year. I really love the subject, but I’m having some trouble with my GPA right now because of an unexpected emergency last semester. The teacher for that class has asked me to retake it anyway, and I’ve been doing much better this time around. But if I can’t have the course counted towards my GPA, it will hurt me a lot. So please reconsider!
Thanks for your time and consideration,
[YOUR NAME
To Whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to request a transfer from [school name] to [school name]. I have been a student at [school name] for the past two years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time there. However, I am looking to change things up and would really like to attend [school name]. The reason I am asking for this transfer is because I have heard some wonderful things about the school, and I feel that it will be a great fit for me.
I know that you have high standards for all of your students. Therefore, I have attached my application along with some other documents that might help you understand why I think this is a good idea. Please let me know if you need any additional information from me or if there is anything else that would help me make my case stronger.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
How to write an appeal letter for school
Dear [name of school],
I am writing to you today to request an appeal of my grade in [subject]. I believe that my grade was not a fair representation of my performance that semester and therefore would like to request some form of reconsideration.
In this letter, I will explain why I feel the grade was unjust, as well as provide evidence to back up my claim. First, let me say that this course has been one of the best experiences of my life. It has taught me a great deal about [subject] and helped me become more knowledgeable about it than ever before. However, I feel the final exam for this course did not accurately reflect what we learned throughout the semester. We were given two hours to complete this test and were asked questions that were not covered in lectures or readings. As a result, many students ended up receiving low scores on their final exams even though they had done well throughout the semester.
I also want to point out that while I am writing this letter because I felt my grade was unfair, many other students feel the same way about their grades as well. In fact, according to our class representative’s survey results (which were shared with us by email), 40% of students surveyed agreed with me that there needed to be
Dear [school name]:
I am writing to appeal your decision to deny me admission to your school. I believe I have made a strong case for why you should reconsider my application, and I am hopeful that you will be willing to grant me admission as a result.
First and foremost, I believe that my test scores are misleading. As you know, I scored well below the minimum requirements on the SAT, but this was due in large part to my difficulty with reading comprehension and vocabulary. As a native speaker of Spanish, it is difficult for me to translate words from Spanish into English without first knowing their meanings; therefore, I often make mistakes when taking standardized tests. It is important for you to understand that this is not an issue of intelligence or ability—it is simply a matter of language proficiency.
In addition, it appears that the high school where I was previously enrolled did not prepare its students adequately for college-level work. The classes were too large, we had few opportunities for individualized attention from teachers, and there was very little interaction among students outside of class hours (due largely in part to our geographic isolation). As such, when I took my SATs last year, they reflected poorly upon me because they were administered in an environment where my ability
Dear [name of person in charge],
I am writing to you today to appeal the grade I received on my school work. I am very confident that I can make a strong case for why the grade should be lowered, and therefore request that a meeting be scheduled where I can present my argument.
As you know, I have been working hard in all of my classes this year and feel confident that my attendance and grades have reflected that. In fact, there are many indicators that show that my performance has been excellent. For example:
* My attendance rate is above 90% each week, which is higher than most other students in my class.
* My GPA is 3.8 out of 4 points (or 4 out of 5), which is higher than almost all other students in my class.
* The average grade for students who took the same course as me was 13%, while mine was 92%. It is clear from these statistics that I am doing better than most people in the class, and so it would be unfair for me to receive a lower grade than them based solely on one assignment being worse than another’s due to an outside factor (such as an illness).
Dear Principal,
I am writing this letter to appeal my suspension from school for two days. I realize that when I was caught smoking in the bathroom, it was wrong of me and I should not have done it. However, I do feel that my punishment is too severe. When you look at my record, you’ll see that this is only the second time I’ve been suspended from school. The first time was for fighting with another student and that was over a year ago. If you allow me to return to school on Monday with my original grade-point average intact, then I promise that this will be the only time I ever get suspended again.
Please consider my appeal and let me know if there’s anything else I can do to make myself more appealing in your eyes!
Dear [name of person],
I was disappointed to learn that I had not been accepted into your school. I have always been a very dedicated student, and I know that the school’s rigorous application process can be difficult for some students. However, I believe that my experience and skills would make me an excellent addition to your community.
My academic record is exemplary: in high school I earned straight A’s in every subject, and my GPA was 4.0 or higher throughout my college career. At my current university, I am enrolled in classes on both sides of the curriculum (the humanities and the sciences) and am pursuing a double major in psychology and philosophy. In addition to these high-caliber studies, I have also taken several extra credits each semester so that when graduation rolls around next year, I will be able to complete all requirements for both degrees by May 2020. This means that if you were willing to accept me into your program now—instead of waiting until May 2021—you would still be able to see the results of my hard work before they are lost due to other commitments like work or family life.
I am also an active member of my community outside of academia: as an amateur musician who has performed locally with
